I've been spending a lot of time planning and plotting more than anything these past few months. It's not a bad thing to do that as opposed to actually writing, planning and plotting is more than half the battle. I'll jump between projects often, building a little bit more for each as I go.
However, my next book which I'll be self-publishing next is going quite well. It recently crossed 70,000 words, my personal magic number I try to hit for each story (and then like try and put on another 30,000). It's about 2/3rds of the way done, so a release sometime in the Spring months is a realistic goal. I'm calling it The Aveline Heiress. You can view the projects page of the website if you want to know just a bit more about it.
In other news, the plotting for the next books is going well. The Eldritch Queen trilogy is almost fully complete in terms of the pre-writing worldbuilding and how I'm going to approach writing its themes and characters. Book 1 and 2 are done, but book 3 is giving me some trouble. Also, planning for The Seventh Seraph is going great. My decision to split the story into two parts, two books, will serve it well. I'm about nearly done working on the first half.
I know my first book is in the Legacy of the Ascendants series, but there will be a fairly long span of time before the second book in the series is out, as I'm focusing on getting my other stories kickstarted and up and running. My plans could change, but for now, my schedule is looking like this:
-Finish The Aveline Heiress
-Book 1 of the Eldritch Queen Trilogy
-Part 1 of The Seventh Seraph
After that is when I plan to write The Gatekeeper: Book 2 in the Era of Awakening. It's got its basic plot and storyline already set in stone, so it shouldn't be difficult to pick up where I left off in Book 1.
Lastly, as for Legend of the Okami, it might be on the backburner for a while. I've tried working it, but haven't had much success. I'm still not exactly sure what I want the world to look like, and until I figure that out, it's going to be very slow. For now, I'm focused on The Eldritch Queen, my first dark fantasy venture, and The Seventh Seraph, which runs akin to The Gatekeeper in theme and common elements but has a different genre.
